James "Jim" Rosendall, Jr., 44, of Grand Rapids, Michigan and a former executive of Houston, Texas-based Synagro Technologies, Inc., pleaded guilty Monday to charges of bribery and conspiracy in connection with paying a Houston City Councilman to secure a vote in favor of a $1.2 billion sludge contract with the city. Rosendall was president of Synagro's Michican division and a former member of the Michigan Transportation Commission. He admitted that between 2004 and 2008, more than $150,000 was spent on campaign contributions, donations to City Council members' pet projects, churches and community groups in exchange for supporting Synagro.Wednesday, January 28, 2009
