North Carolina Pastor Pleads Guilty To Embezzling $290K From Church
Wendell Johnson, 59, and the former pastor at the First Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, pleaded guilty yesterday to embezzling some $290,000 from the church. Johnson, who was charged with 9 embezzlement counts, stole the money between 1989 and 2005, according to prosecutors.
