Pilita T. Corrales, 22, of Seattle, Washington, has been charged with embezzling some $255,000 from Steeler, Inc., a construction supply firm where she had been employed as an administrative assistant. Corrales was also a dancer/cheerleader with the Washington Stealth professional lacrosse team and was a member of the last Seattle SuperSonics dance team from 2007-2008. According to authorities, Corrales forged checks and transferred company funds to pay personal credit card and other personal vendor bills. She also allegedly made numerous unauthorized charges on company credit cards for personal use. Prosecutors allege that Corrales stole a total of $255,224 from September 2007 and April 2008. Corrales was forced to leave the company in 2009 after the thefts were discovered. Corrales has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree theft.
