Rodney L. Rodis, 52, a Roman Catholic Priest, was convicted today on state charges of embezzling more than $1 million from two rural Virginia parishes. He faces up to 200 years in prison plus restitution at sentencing which is scheduled for January 14. He is currently serving a 63 month federal sentence on separate charges of mail fraud and money laundering. According to reports, Rodis' scheme occurred over at least a 14 year period, unbeknownst to parishioners. The theft was done allegedly to support his wife and three children back in the Philippines.
