Wendy Ann Bernard, 41, of East Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from the Law Offices of Gary McInerney, for whom she had been employed for 25 years. According to authorities, Bernard's scheme spanned nearly 7 years, from January 2004 to September 2010 and involved the use of a computer to commit a crime. Details are unclear at this time. Update (11/3/11): Bernard was sentenced to one year in jail and ordered to pay $543,212 in restitution. She had pleaded guilty in July 2011.
