Theresa Canavan Lyda, 41, of Fairhope, Alabama, was sentenced to serve 8 months in prison for misappropriating $106,481 from the Page and Palette bookstore where she was employed as a bookkeeper. According to prosecutors, from July 2006 through December 2008, Lyda issued checks, used credit cards and store accounts to pay for her personal expenses. An attorney for the store put the loss at "closer to $131,000." Lyda was arrested on January 6th based upon an anonymous tip.Monday, February 1, 2010
