Jacalyn Renee O'Boyle, 48, of Port Huron, Michigan, was charged earlier this month with embezzling more than $100,000 from the St. Edward On-the-Lake Catholic Church where she had been employed as church secretary for some 15 years. Prosecutors allege that O'Boyle's thefts began at least as far back as January 1, 2003. An audit of the church's books revealed the missing money last July and authorities began investigating in December. O'Boyle turned herself in on February 9th.
