Orchid Lynette Hill, 48, of Midland, Texas, was sentenced yesterday to 2 1/2 years in prison, plus restitution for embezzling $115,000 from the International House of Pancakes where she had worked as the general manager. Hill was convicted November 13th on 11 wire fraud counts for sending false accounting reports to the company's regional headquarters for the period August 2006 to January 2007. The investigation and trial did not reveal how the embezzlement scheme was accomplished as it was done in a "deceptive manner" according to investigators.
