Patricia Regina Wilcurt, 47, of Whitesburg, Georgia, is being held on $150,000 bond in the Cobb County, Georgia jail on charges she embezzled $121,000 from the Municipal Court in Austell, Georgia where she worked as a clerk. According to investigators, Wilcurt is believed to have taken cash from court ordered fines and deposited them into her own accounts over the course of about 6 years. She was responsible for depositing the fines at City Hall, but allegedly altered the receipts and kept the cash. Specifically, Wilcurt has been charged with "theft by taking" and "making a false statement." She faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.Monday, January 19, 2009
