Texas Man Sentenced For $900+K Embezzlement

Mark Camacho, 41, of Cedar Hill, Texas, was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison for leading a conspiracy to embezzle more than $900,000 from the Dallas branch of Americo Life Insurance Co. where he had been employed. According to prosecutors, Camacho misappropriated some $932,197 by causing the company systems to issue more than 200 electronic funds transfers to eight other co-conspirators and then split the proceeds. The embezzlement scheme lasted from January 2003 through February 2004. Six other defendants in this case have previously pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge and have been sentenced, including: Jerry R. Castillo, 37, of Mansfield, Texas, sentenced to two years and $148,353.18 in restitution; Brian Harris, 32, of Lancaster, Texas, sentenced to 18 months in prison and $344,405 in restitution; Carlos A. Rangel, Jr., 35, of Dallas, Texas, sentenced to six months in prison, five months home confinement and $149,541 in restitution; Anthony Mendez, 34, of McKinney, Texas, sentenced to four months in prison, four months home confinement and $144,586 in restitution; Philip Hughes, 34, of Wylie, Texas, sentenced to four months in prison, four months home confinement and $30,572 in restitution; and John P. Mendez, 29, of Irving, Texas, sentenced to four months in prison, 90 days home confinement, and $22,244 in restitution. Camacho and the other defendants were indicted in March 2009 on charges of conspiracy to exceed authorized access of a protected computer and exceeding authorized access of a protected computer.

Even though he deserved 30 years, according to the articles he only received 30 months.

So you think he deserved 30 yrs? What about child rapists and murders and kidnappers? They all get 10 yrs and get out in 4 with "good behavior" TO hell with what you think he deserves. He got 30 months and will do 25 and then 6 in the halfway house. So it looks like 19 in. KMA!
