Eugene Nichols, 44, former deputy director of the Bedford County, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, was indicted last week on 44 counts of theft and 26 counts of forgery involving the agency. According to the indictment, Nichols diverted at least $117,000 over a period between July 1, 2003 and July 30, 2007, for his own purposes.
