Jeffrey Scott Koger, 39, of Oak Hill, Virginia, plead guilty today to charges of wire fraud and tax evasion in a case in which he admitted to embezzling some $3 million from the property management company he served as CFO. Koger admitted to stealing funds from Koger Management Group during the period from 2003 to 2006. The company collects and manages homeowners association dues. According to the indictment, Koger diverted funds intended for specific client accounts to his own person account at least 140 times. He faces 25 years in prison and $500,000 in fines if convicted. Koger ended up in a gun fight with the police when he was attempting to evade capture in February. Koger wounded two people before he was shot in the midsection but was expected to recover. He is being charged separately with three counts of attempted capital murder.
