Marilyn Davis, 73, of Sherrard Village, Illinois and its former clerk, who is on trial for embezzling more than $250,000 from the village, will have her trial continued after pre-trial motions today. Davis was previously charged with two felony counts of theft and official misconduct, according to the complaint. Davis allegedly wrote checks to herself in excess of her salary. She had been employed with the village as city clerk for 41 years.
