Kimberly Sue Sziraki, 44, of Atwater, California and the wife of Merced County Sheriff Department's Sgt. Steve Sziraki, was arrested yesterday on suspicion she had embezzled $832,000 from her employer, Central Valley Processing, a nut processing company. Investigators say the thefts mostly occurred in 2006 and 2007. Sziraki was a manager at the company and had access to all of the company's financial systems, according to reports. She was able intercept checks and transfer funds to her own accounts. The thefts came to light after a broker had contacted the company and complained that they had not been paid.Read the story here.
