William Martinez, 63, of Spring Hill, Florida, was charged with stealing more than $700,000 from his employer, Royal Coachman Homes, via a phony sales commission scam. Martinez, who was arrested on Friday, was charged with six counts of "organized fraud of more than $50,000" and one count of grand theft. According to prosecutors, Martinez forged and deposited 163 fake checks into his own personal account. The scam went on between July 2002 and February 2008, according to the complaint. Martinez was a 17 year veteran of Royal Coachman Homes and held the position of sales manager. Company owner and president, Joseph Mazzuco discovered the fraud when going through the books. Mazzuco confronted Martinez over the telephone and has not heard from him since.
