Thomas J. Spargo, 65, of East Berne, New York and a former New York State Supreme Court justice, was indicted today on charges of bribery and extortion. According to the complaint, Spargo solicited a $10,000 bribe from a lawyer before his court in 2003. In May 2006, Spargo, then an attorney in private practice, was removed from the bench following an investigation by the state Commission on Judicial Conduct.
