Mary Taylor, 39, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty today to charges that she had embezzled some $900,000 from the company she was employed by. Taylor worked as a bookkeeper for Turner Development Co. for several years, but had been employed by the company for 16 years total. She plead guilty to one count of "theft scheme of more than $500" and another count of forgery. The other 46 original charges were dropped as a result of the plea agreement. Taylor faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $26,000, plus restitution. Investigators believe the total theft was $879,020. Sentencing is scheduled for February 24, 2009.
