Lawrence H. Bidwell, 49, of Farmville, Virginia, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, half the time suspended, for embezzling more than $2 million from the Virginia Farm Bureau, where he worked as a claims counsel. Bidwell was also ordered to pay $2,103,737 in restitution. He plead guilty to five counts of embezzlement and one count of forgery in November 2008.
